About Me
I know at least three things...
I'm not sure how to explain what I do, but it's different from how I've been trained both as a part of this US society and as a clinical therapist.

I went into clinical therapy believing that mental suffering was the result of a mental disorder. As a professional it was my job to listen to the symptoms and experiences of others, find the category of "mental disorder" this fit into and implement strategies that were well known and said to be effective.
As I continued my career I came to understand there is more going on that has created the suffering, loneliness, anger, frustration and discontent for those I work with. My education and professional license was based on the medical model where a problem is identified and treated quickly. Was I the problem as there was nothing easily identified and quick to resolve with those I worked so hard to help?
The more life I live and the more I listen to the struggles others face daily, I'm not convinced the medical model is the way out. When an animal is placed in captivity and they start showing new behaviors of repetitive pacing, head-bobbing or other functionless behaviors, the animal isn't in a natural state of distress, it is reacting to an un-natural environment. How natural is the environment you currently live in?
What I know #1 - Our lives are so far removed from the natural state humans thrived in and the prolonged discontent and lack of satisfaction experienced is the consequence.

Another clarifying experience is coming to the understanding that this era of life is cognitive dominant. We believe that we can think through our suffering, make meaning from it and move into a sense of freedom from the past. Somewhere along the line, the connection between living in your body, where freedom is felt, was overlooked. This is where "awakened heart" comes from. Living from a heart focused space is to trust the body's wisdom as a source of healing. For many, we have closed off our body connection to live fully in our brains. Some work needs to be focused on opening the body/ heart connection once again.
What I know #2 - Our bodies are a neglected source of wisdom, healing and connection. They are waiting patiently for us to reconnect and return to a fully embodied way of life

The experience of stress has a proactive function of alerting us to danger, providing a feedback loop or helping us prepare for the future. Is this the stress you are experiencing? Or is your stress a result of conditioning, programming or holding a set of standards that is false and leading, like the captive animals, into functionless behaviors? Actions like "deconstructing the narrative, deprogramming, deconditioning, decentralizing" are they way out of this mindless stress and finding our way to mindful freedom.
What I know #3 - We are experiencing unhealthy, unproductive stress that is not needed for us to survive or thrive. In fact, this stress is leading to early death and emotional misery.

BONUS What I know at least a little - We have been lied to about the nature, value and safety of psychedelics.
Yes, they can be used to party, but also allow us to access unconditional healing and awakening. Are you interested in using mind-expanding substances to advance inner healing and open yourself up to universal truths? While I do not offer access to these medicines, I can help increase your ability to use these medicines for self-healing and integrate the experience into your daily life. Psychedelic experiences have personal/societal value for inner healing and finding our way out of the darkness as a collective.

If you've stuck with me this far, if any of this is "hitting", if you've already learned that the truth of our lives can best be discovered through our body, not our brain, please reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation where we can start to explore how your specific needs and goals may be assisted through the personal guidance I can offer.
